ok recently my site has been slowed down and I am getting throttled like crazy. Looking at the my_sql_slow_queries logs it is full of logs like this:
# Wed Apr 2 08:01:31 2014

SET timestamp=1396447297;
DELETE FROM cef_ss_analytics_history
WHERE time < UNIX_TIMESTAMP(DATE_SUB(NOW(),
INTERVAL 60 DAY))As you can see, some of these take 18 seconds to complete! No wonder I am getting throttled. There are thousands of these going on.
I am on with Bluehost chat at the moment trying to figure something out, but does anyone here have any suggestions?

I had this error too. Network sites data were stored in database as serialized variables. All of them looked ok, but some were recognized as corrupted. Maybe they were stored by different php version(?). This error was visible on site after Symbiostock->Network->Update Symbiocards.
In my case helped removing all network partners and adding them again.Thanks ajt.

Hi all, does anyone know why indent is not working on my page? WP related? The code
is visible in the code? Could it be because I use justified as well?
Example
How to search:
You will see the search box on all pages of my website located at the top.
- Just type your search term in the field and hit search.
- If you don’t immediately find what you need just add or remove keywords to broaden or narrow the search.
- Alternatively you can click Image Categories in the main menu bar and choose the category you are interested in and then browse through the images.
I also offer discounted collections. If I do not have the image you are looking for on Semmick Photo, images of my fellow photographers in my Symbiostock network will be displayed for your convenience. Why does it work like this? Read all about this ground-breaking project here!
I had this problem ages ago and Leo had basically removed its functionality through CSS for some reason if I remember correctly. It was a simple CSS fix, but I can’t remember what the code is sorry. Perhaps someone with more CSS skills can add the code needed to style an ordered list?

March 24, 2014 at 7:31 am #10581Fellow Aussie? Welcome!
As for currency though, there is no AU dollar option at the moment, I have just stuck to US as it’s probably more commonly accepted anyway.
All the best with it.

March 21, 2014 at 4:23 am #10519Yes, but will they look good? You can always compress an image to the extreme, but then it will look pixelated and most buyers would be put off by the image.
Shazam – as I said above “an image optimiser script to losslessly compress them” – thats the point, images can be loselessly compressed without any visible degradation. of course we don’t want bad looking images. But we do want a lightning fast user experience, and a great Google PageSpeed score which will help with page rank.
At the moment, Symbiostock uses JPGs, which is a lossy compression. If you want a lossless compression, then Symbiostock would need to be rewritten to use a different image format (such as PNG).
Technically maybe yes, but in reality, no. Read here: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/OptimizeImages
Quote from that page:
Use an image compressor
Several tools are available that perform further, lossless compression on JPEG and PNG files, with no effect on image quality. For JPEG, we recommend jpegtran or jpegoptim

Should we be adding Alt Tags (and more) to our large image previews or our mini pics? I notice there is a field for Alt Tags if you go into the Media Library in WP and open the image to edit. You can add additional info too – caption, meta data, focus keyword, etc. I see that “no alt tags” comes up on our main image pages as a negative when we’re trying to get “green” status.
Just wondering if it’s beneficial enough to warrant the extra time and also wanted to make sure it won’t mess up anything in the Symbiostock functions too if we add the data.
It says that on the Yoast section, but if you actually look at the source code for your page when viewing it as a customer would, I think you’ll find that the alt tag is populated with the image title. I’ve checked this in the past and always found that to be the case. The theme must be adding it on the fly.

EDIT: Also, has anyone that is using Bluehost hosting turned on the CloudFlare option? Is it working well? Cheers.
I hadn’t looked into this – I’m on Bluehost – so I just went to look at CloudFlare’s intro video and then took a look at their plans:
http://www.cloudflare.com/plans
I can’t imagine forking over $20 a month at the moment, but free sounds OK. I guess the question would then be – what is the downside? Or even the potential downside?
I googled cloudflare problems to see what would come up:
http://wpguidance.com/549/typical-cloudflare-hosting-problems/
http://www.organicweb.com.au/17147/wordpress/cloudflare-google-pagespeed/
http://www.x-pose.org/2012/02/speed-up-your-site-disable-cloudflare/
I’m not sure I have the expertise to evaluate these complaints (some of which are a few years back, admittedly), and also don’t like the idea of a component that could decrease reliability even if it sped things up when it was functioning.
Thanks for bringing the topic up, but I’m going to be chicken and see if someone else wants to go first 🙂
@leo – now you’ve piqued my curiosity!
I tried Cloudflare on another site of mine about 1 year ago on a different host and had all sorts of problems, so turned it off quickly. So I am a bit afraid to try it now too.

March 6, 2014 at 6:18 am #10203Insanity. I know there has been a LOT of scares in microstock of late, but to be honest, this is the first one that has me really, truly worried about my future in stock.
This is my business, my work, not just a hobby. And with one move Getty may have killed it. And not just for me, but for thousands.
Speechless.

I found this interesting App which, even if it’s very old, it’s working fine for me. Removed all the dates from Blog and images pages. http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-post-date-remover/ 🙂
Yeah I found that too, but its WAY old, and perhaps shouldn’t be used with wordpress 3.8.
Also, check your header and you’ll see it hasn’t removed all the dates, only the visible ones. Google will still find the invisible ones such as this tag in your header:

Say you look at your google results page and find all hits dated. Are you likely to click the oldest or the newest date? What if your publish date gets older and it influences your SEO ranking? Most of our images don’t really “expire”. So why should they be dated, anyway?
Answers to these and other questions are what Tim wants to explore as I understand it.
Exactly. None of the agencies show dates from what I can see.
Just noticing some dates are disappearing from Google results just now, but only partial, so will take a few weeks or month or two to really see the results.
Will definitely report back when I have something to share 🙂

I checked one of your image pages. All dates are gone, i.e. commented out. However, I wonder if it is by accident or if you have reason also to comment out the “” reference before the actual date meta tag.

Thanks for picking that up, just fixed it.
Yeah Christine, personally I would wait if I were you! This could be a huge waste of time…or it could be awesome. But all the necessary steps are in this thread if you are determined to try it too.
Either way I’ll let you know in about 3-4 weeks 🙂
