Just wanted to add to the thread with an icon issue and how I got it working.
I created a Custom Link for “Profile” on the Header Menu (Account/Cart Menu) like this;
I then tried to add the “icon-user” in the Title Attribute but it never showed the user icon. I am assuming the issue is the other menu items have class settings being assigned behind the scenes and adding “icon-user” to the Title Attribute get fed into the class assignment.
Here was the fix. I was able to add this code to the Navigation Label of the Custom Link and it worked.
Profile
With icon

Aha… Where did I get that from (that you’re using Dragonfly)
Looks very clean and simple.
I am hearing a voice saying I should get rid of the red, BUT, I felt it gave me some energy there for a while.
Thanks for the tipJust as an FYI, other than just Leo’s customizer as part of 2.9.2 I have not made any manual customization in code other than just one. I created the home page with the home page generator and edited the home page php file to remove the “row” directly under the slider. As you can see from my site that brought the three CTA’s up under my slider. Everything else has been customized by the features built into Symbiostock.

Thanks so very much for getting rid of the annoying red extra text links.
Not sure I need color tweak for the background:-)
Another big issue is with the slideshow that doesn’t work with this ‘new blank page’ that I called 1025.
However, in the end I may want what he is having, since I know he used the same update and Dragonfly:
http://stock.tdahlphotography.com…but only if I can get there without loading too much work on everyone else, which is hard not to.
Hi Artesia,
I am not using Dragonfly. I am on Theme version 2.9.2 and the standard Symbiostock Child theme. The slider I am using is LayerSlider WP by Kreatura Media.

installed 2.9.2 from 2.8.9 ***** new register doesn’t work with IE10!
the new screen comes up, you can fill in the info, but it wont let you click on the blue bar to register — the cursor turns into ‘circle with slash’
also, even though you’re entering your password, it still says “password will be sent to you”
works as expected in chrome
FYI… just tested mine with IE10 and worked ok. I also updated from 2.8.9 to 2.9.2 through Admin panel.

I am paying 20 dollar 🙂 if someone can get me a piece of code that gives me a logo right here
Follow this it worked for me. I have not got them back in yet but I put facebook, twitter, and google+ icons on my menu so you might be able to use it to add.
October 24, 2013 at 5:47 pm #5083Home Page Generator:
Not sure if I am missing something or not but…
If I need to change text in the CTA’s or main content area it seems you have to go through the whole process of generating the page again. It would be good if the settings were memorized to minimize potential mistakes. (All the text in the content area and the CTA’s are always there)
For example. It seems if I need to change text in a CTA I go into the “Appearance->Home Page”, then I have to choose my home page since it is prefilled with “Contact Us”. Then reenter the shortcut code for the slider, it’s not remembered. Then change the text I need and “Save Changes”.
Not sure if I am missing an easier way to make changes to the Home Page. If not, it would be nice if everything was remembered.
This is not a major issue, just something to note and a nice to have.
Thanks
TimOctober 24, 2013 at 5:22 pm #6060I am stumped. when I installed it did not make any changes.
I did have this happen to me. I accidentally activated a child theme I had used for 2.6.5 and it did something similar to what is happening to your site. I had renamed the old child theme but the name stays the same and shows up in the theme page. So I had two Symbiostock Child themes listed and I chose the wrong one. Just a thought.

Thanks, will install that now. But how does it work? Where do I make changes?
It will install a Symbiostock-child folder in the themes folder. There is a blank style.css where you make all your css changes. You can also copy some of the php files into the child directory if you need to make changes to those.
I am not sure about the limitations on what php files you can copy and edit in the child theme though. Some with more experience will have to provide input.
October 24, 2013 at 4:02 pm #6055Here is the link to a clean child theme. This is what I used. Should not make any changes. Just activate it. Then you can make all your changes under the child theme and they will not get over written by updates.

October 24, 2013 at 12:48 pm #5908Leo, thanks and that is awesome. Just updated and it is beautiful 🙂
One thing about the new email that goes out to sites in the network list when you upgrade. Cathy let me know the following is what she gets. All the HTML tags are showing.
“
[symbiostock_upgrade] http://stock.tdahlphotography.com (Tim Dahl) has upgraded: 2.9.2

Thankfully, I figured it out. I wasn’t “flagging” the featured images properly. I had forgotten there was a Symbiostock Featured Images Category, once I selected that and updated the image page, more images appeared in the featured images portion of the home page.
I had selected my original 6 images back in April, and had forgotten about the proper category name.
FYI

Cool, glad you got it working.
October 23, 2013 at 11:17 pm #5733October 23, 2013 at 6:30 pm #5854Well, did some testing on my test site. Looks like it may not be working right. On the image below you can see the layout with 7 images and then the layout with another image added.
October 23, 2013 at 6:13 pm #5853Then I am stumped. Sounds like you have the same setup as I do.
