For the best SEO, isn’t the actual link best inserted into some text that adds value to the link, rather than just have the URL itself. So in Songquan’s case you would make the link cover “cityscape and travel photography of the world’s top cities”? Having the name of the site is good, but I believe the extra context helps with placement.

July 23, 2016 at 5:36 am #27323Got multiple sales on my site today too. The buyer came from Fine Art America.
Great news! I followed in your footsteps and added a link in my bio on FAA to my stock site. Also did a blog post on that site about the ease of digital downloads of images and linked that back to one of my popular pictures.
You’ve got some great images!

July 23, 2016 at 2:13 am #27319A sale for me on Symzio. Unfortunately just $1.99, but a sale is better than no sale!
Sold on Symzio
This is the one that sold.

July 21, 2016 at 3:05 am #27302I transferred four sites (one of which was a symbiostock site) from another host with Robin’s help. All went very smoothly and my sites are up and running with no break in service.
Great job!

July 15, 2016 at 4:08 am #27247Good to have 2 sales this month. Both are extended licenses for book cover.
That’s fantastic! Do you do anything special about publicizing your site? Send out regular tweets or other methods to get the inbound traffic? Could I ask how many page views you get in a typical day? I get between 20 and 30 page views.

July 14, 2016 at 8:12 am #27237Just occasionally I have – and I think it was with a vertical image for some reason. Most of the time it works fine for me (although I haven’t tried one recently!)

July 10, 2016 at 7:52 am #27187Hi Robin
The pricing and the ability to have multiple sites hosted all looks great, but the amount of storage seems pretty low for stock photo (never mind video) sites. I think my current package is 60GB storage and I probably use 40GB of that.
Is storage a big cost in hosting? I would have thought it was less so these days with the pricing of discs.

July 4, 2016 at 11:49 pm #27075I found this a little confusing, but this is what I did:
Obtained Pro from the shop and installed it as a zip file without activating
Updated the existing Symbiostock plugin to 3.2.0 and it renamed itself Lite
Activated the Pro plugin to 3.2.0 – the Plugin page then said that an update was available and I updated it from that page – I’m now on 3.2.1.
But – I’m not sure about WooCommerce – the answer to George isn’t clear if the error message is a mistake and we should stay with 2.5.5, or that we should update WooCommerce to 2.6.2. So far I stayed with 2.5.5.
I then updated the Express Theme (uploading to a new folder). It would have been better to have given it a slightly different name, but I think I have now activated the new version. Is there some documentation on what is new in the new Theme – for instance, I made a direct change to one of the files of the old theme to give me a row of Symzio images in the footer area of my image pages – in the new version this is back to being a 2×2 matrix. Is there a way to extend the footer across the page using some setting in Express?

June 27, 2016 at 11:45 am #26940Hi David
Did you look at this area? http://www.symbiostock.org/docs/
Are you migrating from an old Symbiostock site or starting from a totally new stock site? The approach is quite different dependent on your starting position.

June 24, 2016 at 2:24 am #26912I would be happy with one sale – 30 would be beyond my wildest dreams…
June 18, 2016 at 12:25 am #26888It is the PHP applications that you need to make sure are running on your host. I wrote about it in this blog post explaining how I went about setting up my site:

June 7, 2016 at 5:15 am #26760Great – that worked. I added the widgets to the “media” pages and all is well!
Thanks
June 6, 2016 at 12:35 am #26757Thanks Andre – the “display widgets” plugin?
June 5, 2016 at 9:29 am #26754OK – I made a mistake! I added to widget to the wrong footer. I have now added it to footer 1 which has solved the vertical column issue. I still have the dark grey background issue and would prefer this to only appear on the product page and not the rest.
I also need to look into the new release of Symbiostock express!

June 5, 2016 at 7:54 am #26753I’ve finally got round to doing this, but I have ended up with a vertical block of Symzio results on my product pages (and on the Home page), with a black background. This also appears on my search page as well as the current vertical block of results. Basically, it looks like a mess…
Here is the product page:
http://www.backyardstockphotos.com/image/fireworks-over-washington-dc-on-july-4th-7/
And a search page:
http://www.backyardstockphotos.com/?s=fireworks
Just why the bananas appear as a similar result from Symzio is a bit strange as well.
Did the new release of Symbiostock Express fix this issue and make it a bit easier to include the Symzio widget in the footer of the product pages?
