Well, I finally got to green, but it was a bit of work. Not as “green” as you, but I don’t have the patience or fortitude to try harder. 😯
I upload 5-10 images per day, so generating thumbnails and all the other work you do is just too much for me. I’m just including my logo instead. I’m not sure if that will make a difference. Already uploading to my Symbio site has added an hour of time to my day. If I have to do all this cutting and pasting I’m going to cut back on what I upload there.
Here’s the copy I wrote to get to green. Anyone is welcome to pick it up/modify/use it. Of course, you’ll have to edit and insert your own links, images, etc. For photographers all the stuff about vectors makes no sense, obviously.

January 29, 2014 at 12:03 am #8910Wow, I sure do suck at that. I’m doing tons of things wrong, and I’ve done all those things wrong for more than 650 images now.
You generate a thumbnail image for everything you upload? You format every page? You link to other pages on every page? You write two paragraphs of redundant copy to get the keywords repeated? My god, I just feel like crying now.
But thanks for sharing all of this with us. It is interesting to see all the work you’re doing on every page. I do appreciate it.
January 28, 2014 at 8:32 pm #8867Then we need to be honest about what makes a site successful.
Look at all the things you’re doing—your built-in buying audience, backlinking to multiple sites, thumbnails on other pages, games, eBay auctions, etc. Look at the long list of things Leo did to get his site noticed.
This is all a huge amount of work, and it really does need to be done by each person for his or her own site in order for this network to be successful. But most people here can’t even be bothered moving their mouse to click a “like” button on FB or post news about themselves to the Twitter feed Leo set up a couple days ago. I posted twice and realized I was crazy for continuing to do that stuff for everyone else.
Linking to 10 sites and getting a yellow Yoast light is not enough. Symbiostock is not set it and forget it. Those of you who are successful have done much, much more than that.
January 28, 2014 at 7:49 pm #8965January 28, 2014 at 2:14 pm #8872I do think most people are relaxing. And a few are not. Of course, you are among the latter, Martha.
January 28, 2014 at 2:13 pm #8850I like the cleanliness of it. However, it’s still heavily weighted towards Symbiostockers rather than buyers. If I was a buyer I’d wonder why I had to start my own Symbiostock site.
January 28, 2014 at 12:56 pm #8897I’m gonna relax, as Cidepix suggested.
January 28, 2014 at 12:53 pm #8874So you’re sitting back and relaxing? Great. I’ll do that too. Gah, what a freaking idiot I’ve been.
January 28, 2014 at 12:31 pm #8923So…you work in an industry that buys images, you have an insider view of what they need, and you draw that. And i would guess most sales are to them?
Can you comment on Cathy’s assertions on MSG? Is it true a few people who started out together have zillions of links to their sites while the rest of us are limited to 10?
Sorry if this is taken as a “slam.” I’m just trying to figure out why some people are getting 60+ sales per month and the rest of us are close to zero.
January 28, 2014 at 1:12 am #8878Thanks all, and especially to Leo, Jo Ann and Martha for all the work and support. And thanks to the people who helped out with info and donations for the Facebook page. But if only three or four of us like and comment, it’s fruitless. Facebook reduces the number of people who see the posts without community involvement.
Instead of growing, the page is shrinking. And I’m spending a lot of time and effort reaching Martha, Jo Ann and myself. 🙂

January 27, 2014 at 12:08 pm #7763Leo, if you’re reading…how can we get images into the twitter feed?
January 26, 2014 at 10:19 pm #8844Back to work Monday! Check out the thousands of work-related images at the Symbiostock global search:

January 26, 2014 at 10:06 pm #8841I’m not sure what carrot to dangle to get this to happen. Even asking people to write a short blurb about their *own* sites or offer their favorite image to be promoted on FB: Only a few people have taken me up on it.
January 26, 2014 at 9:55 pm #7766Agreed. One thread specifically for twitter posts. I can certainly copy the Facebook posts to that thread every day. And if people have blog posts/special offers/new work/etc., that would be the place to talk about it.
