Hi Roman – this is true, but there are a few really big benefits of AnyType:
1) AnyType products are served as licenses, so they can be provided within the same products that have individual image licenses attached to them. So for example, you could have small, large, extra large, and RAW, and even a ZIP file that contains different versions of the same image so the customer can get a “set” for that one image. Using the built in WooCommerce system, you would need an entirely separate product, and so, if you wanted to sell a RAW or ZIP file that corresponded to any of your Symbiostock images, you would need to create a duplicate for each one.
2) AnyType products automatically show up if the file exists, and the license does not show up if they don’t. This removes the need to manually create a separate product with an image and description each time, and instead all you have to do is upload the file.
So yes, in theory, you could sort of replicate a similar effect, but AnyType makes it much easier to add custom files to your already created Symbiostock products – and that is the main purpose. It is not there to replace the built in system, but to allow you to in essence create non-image products to go along with your image products.
August 10, 2020 at 9:48 pm #37348Hi Roman – sorry for the delay in responding. AnyType does not zip anything up, and you must bundle the zip files yourself. In that respect, you can serve any file, not just ZIP files. You can even have a RAW license that works with AnyType. It does require a bit of manual work for each AnyType product, but the instructions are clear and allows you to really have a more customized offering than even the big agencies provide.
August 6, 2020 at 5:59 pm #37323Hi Anderson – thanks for clarifying:
1) You can upload any number of photos each day via FTP – you can use metadata to store them in whatever categories you want (by event, date, etc).
2) You would need Symbiostock Vendors to have other contributors also upload files. They would have to do so via FTP into their custom upload directories. They too can specify categories.
Once processed by Symbiostock, each photo becomes a downloadable product managed by the global licenses. So all you have to do is upload, and everything else is taken care of.
August 5, 2020 at 5:20 pm #37315Resetting the entire plugin is something we may consider adding as a feature in the future, but for now, doing a fresh WordPress install to manually duplicate the licenses is a 20 minute exercise that will resolve your issue.
It will also familiarize you with the license filters and settings so that you can use it more effectively in the future with your store.

You are welcome to contribute to the development and maintenance through our paid support system which is a requirement to continue providing the free software and support that we do, and have, for years.
August 5, 2020 at 3:04 am #37307Hi there – the best option is to install Symbiostock on a fresh WordPress install in a sub-directory, then manually go through one of the default licenses on the new install and synchronize all the settings with a licenses on your current install. There is no way to completely uninstall Symbiostock once it has been installed at the current time. We recommend you follow the 5 minute installation guide when first installing it and then carefully make any changes.

1) If you are using Symbiostock Pro, then no – you just upload them all into your FTP directory and it will automatically process them via the processor. If you are using Symbiostock Lite, then yes, you will have to upload them each manually.
2) Using Pro you can set a price individually or use the licenses feature. You cannot add a price for an entire gallery as such, but you can create composite products using WooCommerce extensions, or use Symbiostock Anytype to create a ZIP file with the whole gallery.
3) It depends on the theme you are using. But generally no, a product does not need to have a category.
4) You can use any theme that works with WooCommerce with Symbiostock.
July 23, 2020 at 1:42 am #37234The issue with WPML and WooCommerce in general (we did some extensive research on this) is that WPML foolishly creates duplicates of products in the database – it actually replicates WooCommerce products for each translation. In addition to this, you cannot disable this functionality and force WPML to use the base product as a default in the case that you do not want duplicates created.
This is a terrible design choice, and will break nearly any plugin that attempts to create unique products that function within the WooCommerce infrastructure. There are a large number of people who have complained and requested fixes on this, but I suppose once the infrastructure is setup they can’t revert it. In the end. we strongly recommend not relying on WPML in general as forcing users to create duplicates of each product within your database is not a scalable thing to do.
