To me it’s not about the absolute amount of money you make per pixel. If you compare pest to cholera you might find one better or worse than the other.
I’m one of the people that believes in the value of high quality work and I don’t want to spread the idea photographs are just pixels and the license fee can be determined by factor $0.0000000000x multiplied with the amount of pixels the image has.
But if others think their work is worth $4.99 then so be it. Maybe it even is.
November 29, 2015 at 1:20 am #24646It’s hard if not impossible to get lots of contributors to agree on pricing. Many come from a traditional micro stock background, others are hobbyists who are happy to make 2 bucks in a month, some might come from traditional (macro) stock who have been in the business for many years. You can’t even say that one image is worth as much as every other one.
Offering only two different sizes – fine. Keeping 20% of the sales – seems fair to me. But forcing the lowest possible standards of pricing to contributors is “not smart”. Only the client will be happy with that.
I think you need to keep Symzio open to pull the prices a contributor has set.
November 29, 2015 at 1:06 am #24645I had really high hopes for Symzio as a central hub for Symbiostock when I still thought that contributors remain free to set their prices to what they think is fair. However as it turns out Symzio is just another micro-mini-agency that’s joining the race to the bottom of pricing and contributes to devaluating your work.
I’m afraid under these conditions Symzio is not for me.
November 28, 2015 at 1:37 am #24639Do I understand it correctly that images are priced from $0.99 to $4.99 on Symzio.com no matter what pricing the contributor has set on his individual website?
November 23, 2015 at 12:27 am #24598That’s called masonry grid. However, the Shop page is controlled by WooCommerce (Settings -> Products -> Display). So in order to change the display template you’d have to dig into WooCommerce, find the template and modify it. But I don’t think that’s a good idea for future update and compatibility reasons.
November 22, 2015 at 8:43 am #24592Works fine from here.
November 22, 2015 at 8:39 am #24591As you already noticed some images are vertical, some horizontal. In order to fix the issue you’d have to use either verticals only, horizontals only or set WooCommerce to hard crop the previews to square format as I did: http://picturebreeze.com/shop/ .
November 20, 2015 at 1:09 am #24571A CDN would make a caching plugin redundant, wouldn’t it?
November 18, 2015 at 5:25 am #24551I think you either need to give it some time until all images are re-processed or it’s simply a matter of your theme that will show square crops only. So you might want to check if there’s an option for products display at your theme settings.

November 18, 2015 at 1:31 am #24545You can offer digital downloads and you can offer tangible products separately. But if you’re thinking about offering one product in variations of digital downloads and prints then the default Symbiostock plugin isn’t what you’re looking for.
October 22, 2015 at 12:44 am #243881. You need to set the product attribute in your search. Otherwise the search will only list posts with “France” in the title.
You can do that by using the WooCommerce product search widget or by including the post type “product” as a hidden attribute to your search form. (<input type=”hidden” name=”post_type” value=”product” />)
2. You might want to look into the WC Vendors plugin. This will let contributors set up their own Paypal recipient account and it can be set to automatic payout. However there are some permission restrictions and this plugin doesn’t work yet with Symbiostock. I’ve tried a few days ago. Hopefully Robin can chime in.
October 20, 2015 at 3:03 am #24369Create a page “photography” and set it as your ‘Shop Page’ at WooCommerce -> Settings -> Display.
Permalinks should be set to “Post name”.
Your shop will then be reachable at your domain.com/photography/ .
October 17, 2015 at 2:05 am #24355I’ve used a simple html search form for Woocommerce products (<input type=”hidden” name=”post_type” value=”product” />). Added a little bit of inline styling to it.
Just add a global layer to make it visible at every slide and add the html code in a text field.
October 16, 2015 at 11:56 pm #24353Sure you can. Revolution Slider will accept code. See my website for an example.
