I just saw on TV that the Liberty Lady was open for business again hehe 🙂
That’s just about the only thing that is open.

The exchange rate is 10 to 1! The idiots just let it fluctuate wildly like a bouncing check.
You think you’ve got idiots! We’re sitting here with a government shut down and playing around with the notion of default. What a crew of nincompoops. (That’s the nicest word I can think of at the moment.)

Well, I’ve only been online for about a week since starting. I figure if there are problems they will show up hehe. Plus other sites are not reporting problems with the purchasing.
I don’t know much about Paypal but I do know that a there are transaction costs. I don’t feel like giving money to paypal just to test. Plus I have no idea how to do a refund hehe 😀
OK, it’s your choice. But I can tell you… Ron graciously did a test for me last week (as did my equally gracious husband). Found my purchasing setup wasn’t delivering the image. Better to find out from a friend (or a husband) than from a customer.
However, I learned how to refund the purchase price, which was well worth knowing. Super-easy, actually. And the cost was a pittance. Something like 10 cents US. I considered that money well spent.
October 14, 2013 at 2:46 pm #4714Jo, I’ll be glad to make a test purchase from your site if you don’t have another way to test it. Let me know, okay?

I haven’t yet had any sales so I hope that the payment/download system is working hehe.
This would be a good time to test that!

Yeah, that’s what I’m ‘fraid of. Not a big fan of walking on jagged glass.
OK. I’ll get you on as an admin, but not until tomorrow. Okay? I’m too old to be working after midnight.
And… no rush with this. I’ll send you an email when you’re “in” and just do it as you have time.
As always: thank you, Leo.

When did 2.7.9 come out? I just updated yesterday?! I do have php 5.4 Bluehost upgraded everyone who hadn’t already done so. I’m not complaining about updates, really I’m not…it’s just one of those “wordpress” gripes…I remember when WP seemed to have an update every week.
Okay, I guess I just missed the update stuff link when I was keywording/seo’ing a bunch of images today.
Yep. Seems one can either upload images and do SEO stuff on them, or follow the updates to SYS. LOL!
I like to see improvements, but it’s hard to keep up sometimes.

i have a version of cleantheme that should go well with your site. if you want me to set you up I can do it in 10 minutes, saving you some headaches.
Wow, I would LOVE that! But I hate to have you forever needing to be so hands-on with our sites.
But, if you’re serious, I’ll take you up on it. I don’t know how to make you an admin on my site. Is that done through Bluehost?

There was one or two instances of *real* issues, but other than that there’s a set of inconveniences not much unlike the earlier versions people are amazingly comfortable with.
I’d say upgrading is pretty safe.
I may go ahead, bite the bullet, and take the plunge this week. Would rather have a Clean Theme upgrade to smooth the way, but I realize that may not happen anytime soon.
What’s the latest version? 2.7.9??? The number seems to jump ahead by leaps and bounds!

Its not that the problems are bad, its just that people cry loud. 🙂
Well, if it’s my problem, I’m gonna cry loud! :/

I’m still in sandbox mode but although I get all the customer emails when I attempt to download the file I get a completely white page…and no download initiates. Is this a sandbox issue or might I have something wrong?
I’m having exactly the same problem (running 2.6.5), and so did Shelma. It’s not a sandbox issue.
Apparently, the “fix” is done in the latest version (2.7.x), but some of us are afraid to upgrade because of the problems others have had. It’s a dicey issue at this moment.

Do you know if there’s the old version for sale anywhere, I am starting from scratch so any help will do?
The old version of Clean Theme is still available, but I don’t think it makes sense for you to get it.
Since you’re starting from scratch, why not do what Jo did: build your site around the latest version of SYS 2.7.x .
It seems that some of us “old timers” who have been at this for, oh, three months or so, and built our sites with older versions of SYS and Clean Theme 2 are the ones having difficulties upgrading now.
October 14, 2013 at 1:14 am #4656From one wildlife photog to another…
Very nice work, Steve!
October 13, 2013 at 7:55 pm #4589I’m another one using Clean Theme 2, and I really love it. Combined with SYS 2.6.5 and SYXtra plugin for some special niceties, it’s given me what I needed to build a beautiful and truly “clean-looking” website.
If I didn’t have to do something to make my sales go through to completion (and if that fix weren’t built into the 2.7.x version) I would not upgrade at this time.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. If it is broke, however… :/
