A question of a facebook newbie. Yesterday I tried to write a nice comment on the new Symbiostock fb site but there was no avatar next to my comment. But i have a profil picture on my own fb site (same as here on the forum). Do I have to upload a second avatar/profile picture for comments? And where can I do it?
I’m pretty sure you can only comment as an individual on Facebook, not as a company. So your photo would come up if you had a personal Facebook page. My comments will come up as the Symbio logo only because I started the Symbio page.
Yea, that is one of the reasons I created a completely new Facebook presence for Tdahl Stock Photography and do not use my personal FB Account. I created a personal account specifically for my stock photography and tied it to my business page I created. Plus it keeps my personal account separate.
And another question 😀
What exactly do you mean with “tied it to my business page”?
And is it allowed on fb to like my business account with my personal account?November 5, 2013 at 8:44 pm #6798@redneck wrote:

No, you can “Use Facebook as” any personal or business page account to like, share or comment. Just click on the “gear” icon top right and choose the account of your liking.
I see the “gear icon” but no possibility to choose accounts there. Could you tell me where it is … sorry for asking dumb facebook newbie questions.
November 5, 2013 at 11:55 am #6793Awesome. Thanks a lot for your work!

November 5, 2013 at 10:56 am #6790I really like this text. May I think of it as an official Symbiostock marketing text and use it on my own site?
November 4, 2013 at 10:18 am #6785I like the Call to Action para … good idea.

I’d suggest 2 posts a day:
1. Morning, introduce 1 or 2 Symbio sites with a link either to their splash page or image page of their choice (images show up with the watermark in the newsfeed and look great)
2. Afternoon, a rotating message from all of the good suggestions here: announcements when Symbiostock reaches a new milestone in terms of number of artists/images; interviews with photogs/videographers/illustrators; reminders to purchase files for holidays or other events or purposes; invitations to join; etc. etc. etc.As I did not use fb very much yet, I’m not sure whether two posts a day are to much or just perfect … but I definitely like the idea to alternate between introducing sites and making general announcements.

Here is a shorter version – more aimed at buyers, but with a para about becoming a contributor:

SteveI think it’s a good idea to take the shorter version … too much text might drive people away.
November 3, 2013 at 4:13 pm #6770Michele, I just mailed some sample pics to you … please feel free to use them as you like for the symbiostock facebook site.
November 3, 2013 at 10:18 am #6763I like this idea a lot Michele (although I’m not a facebook fan, but I think we should use it for promotion nevertheless), and I fully agree upon the additions of Karen and Steve. Not sure how I can help with that (probably it’s better when native speakers do the admin jobs) but I’m willing to help when I can.
For example just let me know in which resolution you need sample pics for the world map (which is a great idea btw) and I’ll send some to you.November 2, 2013 at 9:27 am #3039That’s awesome … thanks everybody for sharing this!
This is what it looks like on my site:

I just tried again with a different address and got as far as the payment page with no problems.
Logged out and then in again with my chosen password. The only thing that I would say is that your blurb on the download page is a bit big and distracting (and is now out of date with the autogenerated password). Why not put the text on the side of the page instead of above the download pay/download area so clients can find it immediately ? (I then wondered why yours and mine were different in this regard, I am using the Customer template for the customer page)
I agree, first time I saw the page I thought I’m not where I should be, because I couldn’t see the chosen image and the pay now button.
