I can answer some of your questions straight away and someone else might be help with the other points.
Firstly, before you start customising just upgrade to the latest version first. At the time of writing this the latest version is 2.9.4
Secondly you should make your modifications in your Child Theme. That way the settings are always there when you upgrade to a newer version of the Parent Theme. The child theme doesn’t automatically activate itself. So basically you must select and activate the Child Theme as your “Theme”.
Thirdly, yes you will get the same adjustments with either your Child Theme or Parent Theme. This is why it is best to use the Child Theme and leave the Parent Theme alone.
Most colours and such can be changed but you need to have an understanding of CSS and where to change what.
Hope this helps a bit.

October 27, 2013 at 11:33 am #6340If you placed the code in the “Title Attribute” part of the menus then you only need to put in the icon name such as “icon-home”.
Your site site looks great!

Need to implement magnification on hover to see it 😉
Where is this? The only hover I know of is from SYXtra and it only works on galleries made from SYXtra widgets.
The links to the pages work, there is just no image thumbnail shown.

That was a joke to ajt’s comment “but they are there”. See the wink at the end 😉 😀
Ah! Ok 😀 I Thought I had missed a new toy somewhere hehe

Edit: Similar images don’t work any longer with WP 3.7
I’m also getting this. I just get thin horizontal white containers where the images would be.

October 24, 2013 at 9:46 pm #6098Congratulations! That is quite an unusual site. It’s nice to see such a wide range of different sites on SymbioStock!

October 24, 2013 at 6:48 pm #5945Technology these days is like the wild, wild west. There are SO MANY possible combinations and errors. My view is that if the major browsers at the very least actually function… that is a good start. Then when it comes to mobile devices on different operating systems, well… it’s a nightmare.
Just out of curiosity, do you guys think people buy stock images/vectors on small devices? I sort of think that if I was buying something like that I would not do it on anything smaller than a certain sized tablet/iPad type device. So I’m not too concerned with cell phones per se.
Oh and just as a foot note for those who are working with custom styling, be aware that it WILL look different on every browser and platform. If you really want it to look similar cross platform/browser… keep the design simple. It’s not the theme’s fault.
Microsoft gave the internet a wonder gift. It’s called Style Sheets. It’s become a standard. The sad part is that everyone but Microsoft obeys the rules that THEY created! So when you hear Leo say that IE9 is a good place to break code… you now understand why LOL!

I accidentally signed up with IE9 so I repeated with a different email account for an old site of mine and same speedy deliver on Opera.

Edit: You can delete the accounts hehe. Might need to sign up again to test in the near future 🙂

Done and instant email notification 🙂 I don’t know with mobile devices as I don’t really have any but my 4″ screen smart phone.

I know this much Jo. That doesnt change the fact its only a few logos. I never made style changes. My site is straight from the box, and with the child theme its a mess. Period. 🙂
Ok Ron. I hope one day someone can explain it to you in such a way that you understand. Obviously I’m failing at making you see what the author of SymbioStock designed the child theme for and why… PERIOD! No hard feelings 🙂 You just keep on doing it your way.

October 24, 2013 at 6:21 pm #5933Ok, I’ve created brand new accounts on my site by registering from scratch on all the browsers below and using a gmail account and I’m on a PC. I get an instant email sent to me and I register with no problems.
I’ve tested this with;
IE9
Safari
Sea Monkey
Opera
FirefoxI skipped Chrome because I’m tired, I use it for my own site and it just always works anyway.
They all work if you use a reliable email address. Any email address issued by Microsoft is guaranteed to arrive in 3 weeks.

October 24, 2013 at 6:02 pm #6016Ron, as per your other thread… this is CUSTOM work! Every time you change these things you should be working in your Child Theme. These are all your changes you make that I am referring to as custom bits and pieces.
