Ok for the sake of clarity here. “Contact Form 7” is NOT working since WordPress updated. Unless you know how to rewrite the plugin… IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK till the owner fixes it! When you pointed it out I ran tests and realised my site had the same issues.
Jetpack shouldn’t give you any problems as I run it on my site since I started out a few weeks ago. I’ve tested most of its components and even disabled some since I don’t need them. The contact form with Jetpack does work. It works on my site.
You will have to go and edit the contact page as explained with the setup help page. In other words you cannot get the contact page to work unless you remove the previous plugin info and rebuild it for Jetpack.
Alternatively you can just rename the actual “page” and create a new one but you must remember to change the links on the menus so they point to the right page.
Lastly anyone can contact you with Jetpack even if you are not signed in. I get spam this way and I just sent a test email from Opera which is not signed up to my site.
Again, feel free to continue the struggle with Contact Form 7. Choice is yours but you have been told several times that it is NOT working currently.

Upload some photos and add some way for people to look at your images first. 🙂

I don’t use jetpack so that won’t work for me.
It’s just pretty stupid that it works on one part of my site but not another.
Well, then my source of help has run dry. I hope you find another suitable plugin.

October 30, 2013 at 5:24 pm #6529Ok I just reverted back to the standard way to create a form and gives you the persons email. Just change it back for the time being. 😀

Just make sure you are not logged in as yourself when testing or it may auto fill in your own details.

Edit: I think the plugin just needs an update after the latest WordPress updates. Keep it installed and wait to be notified of the update.
October 30, 2013 at 4:30 pm #6491This is why I say that it is just waiting for it to collapse in on itself. I actually used to read down my newsfeed. Now I just get my friends news via email. I go direct to reply and bypass a lot of Facebook. I even have some bookmarks directly to sections on my profile I use regularly instead of the clumsy way of getting places.
The CEOs are still selling the millions of users to advertisers and stock buyers. What they DON’T tell everyone about is the Facebook user numbers are now passive instead of actively engaging. I have Facebook open all day but I seldom look at it much at all. THESE are the numbers that they are selling to prospective investors. It’s only a matter of time…

October 30, 2013 at 4:16 pm #6526I just tested my own site and this also happens. I honestly don’t know how to even begin fixing this. It did work a few weeks ago.

October 30, 2013 at 3:39 pm #6489It’s a great pity though. It would have had great potential to reach so many people if greed hadn’t kicked in. The original ads weren’t bad and some were even interesting. Now even if you click NEVER show this company again the ads still come up.

October 30, 2013 at 11:21 am #6487I think Facebook ads are a well propagated myth. It sold shares in the company but I don’t think anyone looks at them. Why do you think Facebook is now forcing them into your newsfeed and under your nose?
People have also started to block Facebook ads. Pretty soon that industry is going to collapse in on itself due to greed.

October 28, 2013 at 12:15 pm #6393Perhaps a thought to keep in mind with licences and the editor is that at some point we will have to change the global prices. What is the best way to do this? If you have one price across the board then you just change everything to the same values.
If you have Standard/Extended/RM etc. there needs to be a way of targeting those types of files only. I had thought that perhaps enabling hidden categories might be a way to go. If there was a way to do so we could set up “back of house” categories or some sort of filter to apply to the files.
Not sure how you would implement it but this is just by way of explanation. Some people have just tried to dismiss my idea as unimportant but I want to see someone say that when they have 5000 files in different licences and want to put up the prices!
Is there a way to associate the image page with the licence? That way if you change the actual licence details it changes the image pages across the board or when they load. It’s an intelligent way to work with a database.
This also enables the X% off everything during the next X period type of promotion some people like.

1. The Categories page has changed quiet bit, now is simple blue links. I’m assuming that was intentional. It is much more compact, and I think easier to read.
You can change it back to the thumbnail view in your Dashboard if you like by going to Pages > Image Categories > Edit > On the right mid page change “Template” to “Interactive Categories”
I like the new look even though it needs a few tweaks.

October 27, 2013 at 11:40 pm #6323Ah I keep forgetting some people are not yet testing the new version. My apologies. Yes, there is the “Safe” old version on the site. It is there for people who don’t want any problems and want to play it safe.
Then we have the current version that some of us are testing. I started my site when the new version began testing. I quickly switched to the newer version because it looks much better. It may be in testing phase but it is basically working fine and almost ready for final release.
You are right when you say the current Theme is constantly evolving. SymbioStock is very new and it is growing as change is needed. New parts are added and some that are not working so well, are improved.
So the updates that sometimes happen on a daily basis are to fix or alter a small segment of the code. It doesn’t radically change the Theme. The jump from the older version to the current version (that my site runs) is quite a large one.
So it is up to you to decide if you want to play it safe and essentially have to do some major changes once you upgrade or just dive in and do it once with the latest Theme 🙂
Oh and anyone has access to the latest theme. I know when there is a new version because I read the boards daily and my WordPress dashboard tells me there is a new version and if I want to update.
If you are on the older stable theme you won’t get prompted to update to a “Beta” version. You manually have to make the decision to use the new version.
Some of your changes you make on your old theme won’t work with the new version. Which ones exactly I cannot tell you as I don’t know too much about the older version.
