When i look at webmaster tools, i see everyone in the network as “links to my site”. How is that happening? I am beginning to think that no matter who i link to in my ten slots, i am automatically linked to everyone. Right now, i am linked to sy.info and jsnovers site in two of my slots. What is the emphasis on filling the ten slots if we are all linked anyway?
I have the same as you in Google Webmaster as you, see my pasted table on the 1st. page.
I think it has to do with Google finding images via other sites and indexing that at that moment.Those links are only links to certain image pages on my site.

Could it be that he has flag as promoted keyword? That’s how he shows up on your site.

Backlinking may not work the way it used to but I am sure that it won’t harm anyone!
We have no problems throwing our images on stock agencies between millions of other images and struggle with the competition. Struggling to get our images on the first page.
So why are we so hesitant with backlinking to help each other?

As far as I can see there are 13 other sites connected to yours. You are not doing bad there!
The Google webmasters list I posted above are not sites that are connected to my site. I think these links are caused by symbiostock.info as the links only point to a couple of images.
Oh well, I had a hope that that were connected sites. I need more SEO!

Just noticed on Google webmasters that I have the following links to my site. I suppose these sites have connected to my site via “Symbiostock Network – Associates and Status” tab.
This does mean that the “who connects to whom” list is outdated?
