I am absolutely not sure about the files that can be deleted. Please don’t take my word. It would be nice if Robin could confirm this.
May 25, 2017 at 12:22 am #29989I suppose these are the new symbiostock files:
wp-content/uploads/ss_media
wp-content/uploads/_ssdl
wp-content/uploads/ss_lic
wp-content/uploads/ss_l_media
wp-content/uploads/symbiostock_rf_contentThese are the Legacy which can be deleted, all found in the root:
plr_data_files
symbiostock_ipn
symbiostock_network
symbiostock_rf
symbiostock_xml_cacheJuly 5, 2016 at 6:15 am #27088We have no plans to charge for Symbiostock. The ultimate goal is to make Symzio highly successful, so as Andre said, the more contributors that actively participate in promoting our joint efforts, the more likely it is we will be able to fund all future development through them. A more responsible question shouldn’t be ‘will you charge for Symbiostock’ – it should be ‘how the hell did you create such a massive, fully functional plugin for free?’
Thank you Robin,
A very clear answer. For me a reason to carry on with the new Symbiostock! But ‘how the hell did you create such a massive, fully functional plugin for free?’
July 5, 2016 at 4:23 am #27083Had no idea. Converting my site and images and all of a sudden symbiostock is downgraded. Yeah, upgrade, pay again. Had this before.
What are the plans! Can’t be too hard to answer. A very basic question. If this can’t be answered then it’s not very professional towards potential photographers, illustrators, artists and customers.
A very business like question.
July 5, 2016 at 2:51 am #27080I thought I had a pretty simple question but if that’s the official answer…
July 5, 2016 at 1:16 am #27078I have this version downloaded via wordpress, no mentioning of Lite or Pro. I am putting a lot of work in converting from old to new. I am thinking of joining Symzio.
I think I am asking a fair question if I ask is the Pro version going to be a paid version. In joining Symzio I know I have to pay my deal if an image gets downloaded via Symzio. Fair. All clear stated on the site. All I want to know is, am I going to get a surprise some day and notice that Symbiostock has been downgraded once again from Pro to Lite because I have to get a paid version.
Just now I am converting my images and all of a sudden I have a Lite version. I have a paid version of the old Symbiostock and all of a sudden the developer quits. I want more certainty this time before I dive in this again.
Simple question: If I upgrade to Pro now am I up to a surprise in the future, is Symbiostock Pro intended to be a paid version and is it ever going to be downgraded again.
July 4, 2016 at 10:02 pm #27071It looks like I have been downgraded to Lite even though I haven’t pressed some kind of button to do so! Strange!
It might be very clear to people here but I don’t understand this Lite/Pro step. I am just switching my site from the old to the new Symbiostock, thinking of joining Symzio. It’s frustrating to put so much work in the switch and then only to find this happening halfway the process.
Now I have the feeling that the switch to Pro is the the first step to a payed version of Symbiostock. Is that correct?
July 4, 2016 at 9:35 pm #27065So, I haven’t updated the plugin yet. It looks like I am on the Lite version now. Somehow things have changed, I can’t change the downloadable images anymore per image.
If you don’t upgrade, symbiostock switches to the Lite version?

On my image pages I have the “Similar images” widget. Lynx show these images as 204-minipic for example, wouldn’t it be better that an Alt tag is used.
It could be me but Lynx doesn’t even notice my watermarked preview image and this worries me the most, is this the reason my images are hardly found on Google? So for me the disturbing thing is that my watermarked preview image is not seen!
Do you suggest that to manually add Alt text to all the minipic’s. Why doesn’t Lynx see the watermarked preview image?
In the Category menu I see at least “image 1693” but no mention of a image on my sales page! This is how Lynx sees my image pages. I was told that Google reads the pages on a similar way.

[attachment=0:26sfcegf]Screenshot4.jpg[/attachment:26sfcegf]March 23, 2014 at 12:09 pm #10394I just found by myself that directly via mysql is the best way to change bulk prices.
Trying it via WordPress makes a mess out of licenses and ‘Exclusive images’ if you do it with the Batch Editor or Sym => “Author options”.I used a query SQL within phpMyAdmin, after testing it on my localhost first.
This worked for me, just like ajt mentioned:UPDATE `wp_postmeta` SET `meta_value` = '2.50' WHERE `wp_postmeta`.`meta_key` = 'price_bloggee';
“( Query took 0.0068 sec )”
This does change all bloggee prices of all images, including collections!
March 19, 2014 at 10:05 pm #10259All images are now removed from Getty. Did this with a ticket to Istock, they asked Getty to remove my images.
Glad I did this, now we have to wait to see if Istock is going to follow the same path as Getty is going.Pretty smooth operation even though it still took 10 days!
March 16, 2014 at 2:11 pm #10258I had an answer this Friday from IS. They are sending a “pull request” to Getty to remove my images there.
So far so good! Now just only wait to see how speedy Getty is.
March 15, 2014 at 6:55 pm #10454I am with you. 50 cents for a blog size until March 22
First tweet is out:

Does removing my complete portfolio from IS also remove everything from Getty and all of the other IS dump stores?
March 10, 2014 at 7:37 pm #10252I submitted a ticket today to Istock informing them I wanted my images to be removed at Getty.
It would be better to go to Getty directly but as IS caused this I think they should take action, plus I have no account at Getty.
This is going to be a long episode for sure! -
