    It would be a nightmare without registration..

    There is a great solution for this now.. auto-login feature of version 2.8.9 makes it work without the confirmation email..

    2.8.9

    Very very simple. User lands on product page. User sees the annoying “Sign up!” prompt. They sign up. Instantly they are logged in, and they never leave the page. ONTO PURCHASE!

    Hasn’t everyone been relentlessly asking for this from day one! Mark this day on the calendar!

    Wonderful Stuff! 🙂

    Awesome Leo, Thanks.

    How does the user change his password? I do not see the customary bar at the bottom or any link to take the customer to his profile to change his password.

    I was thinking about adding the link into the text for the welcome email. That way they could just click the link and change the password when they viewed the welcome email.

    Great Improvement Leo! 😀

    But I will have to agree with the above concerns..

    It would be perfect if the user was able to set up his password while entering username and email..

    nevertheless, this is a step in the right direction..

    Christine, it’s definitely too busy for my tastes.. As a designer, I don’t get the idea of incorporating photos into a logo.. I agree with JoRodrigues that it’s a little girlie.. 🙂 Very home-made looking..

    but it’s your tastes and your site and what matters the most is what you think..

    Mmm.. Unfortunately I don’t know what’s preventing your changes to be reflected on the site..

    What I did was nothing more than adding the code to the old child theme as it is..

    Refresh the page and look at it on another browser..

    About the other question: I am not sure why some sliders have grey gradients while others have white.. haven’t done anything special for that..

    Christine – about the lines:

    I placed that code as it is into the “old” child theme’s style.css (to the bottom)

    2.8.2 with newly installed old child theme.. not a heavily modified old child theme..

    I think you should install the old child theme from scratch and add new code 1 by 1..

    Rest of it works fine.

    What is the CSS code to change the highlight link, Download button and Search colours. Be nice to match them to my logo 🙂

    Love the direction this all moving, looking much slicker now – it’s come a long way.

    Not on my pc right now but I think the codes for search and download buttons were starting with btn-primary and btn-success and they were located in bootstrap-maintheme.css or something similarly named.. I can’t remember exactly but may help you find it.. I will post again to confirm when I am on a PC 🙂

    btw thanks Leo,

    I have used the following code and it worked.. I will look into it further tomorrow to change the color of those lines to white, instead of removing them.. I can sort it out, now that I know it’s class “panel”

    .panel {
    box-shadow: none;
    border: 0;
    }

    I will play with dragonfly on my testing site when I have some time.. It really does look exciting.. But I am already happy with the site “as is” 😀

    class “panel” I believe.

    try assigning:

    .panel {
    box-shadow: none;
    border: 0;
    }

    Have you set up with Dragonfly yet?

    I have, but decided to use the old child theme as I like the original theme and want minimal customization.. old child theme is sufficient I think..

    am I missing a bigger opportunity by skipping dragonfly? 🙂 or is there an easier way to remove those lines by using dragonfly?

    Actually more than removing them, I would prefer to use color #fff so that I can always put them back by changing the color..

    No I meant info@YourSite.com hehe 😀 These are common email addresses that spammers use right away.

    As for the email system I have no opinion as I am new to all of this 🙂

    Jo

    Yes I use info@mysite.com 😀 but host it on outlook (hotmail)

    Right now, the biggest issue is with sign-up confirmation emails.. Very often, they are not being sent out..

    I now have no doubt I am missing sales because of this.. There isn’t even a way to manually send those emails.. I just had a customer staring on “thank you for registering” page for half an hour before giving up about that email.. I know it from google analytics.. I created an account at the same time and the email was not received by me either..

    It is a very big issue for me because my other store makes more sales with less registrations.. (as I turned confirmation emails off) unfortunately on symbiostock I can’t…

    still waiting for that email with no hopes btw.. what’s awful about it? It worked yesterday, and will probably work again tomorrow.. I have no idea why it goes off and on without reason..

    May I ask who is handling the email you are using for your reply emails? The issue may be with them. The theme itself isn’t not responsible for the actual email that gets sent. It is really important to use a reliable email provider for this.

    So in short, the theme prepares the general email and then sends the email via your provider. If it fails or takes too long it is an issue server side on your email side not with the actual theme.

    Yahoo and Hotmail are really bad and unreliable for business.

    Jo.

    thanks for the input..

    my host is godaddy but even though I have an email plan with them, I am not using it.. instead, I use windows live admin center to manage emails, so it’s outlook at the moment..

    I am actually aware that it’s not the theme’s fault.. but it could be avoided by having the ability to let people create their passwords during registration.. this would eliminate the need for email confirmation..

    strange thing is, outlook (hotmail) handles all my emails and as a seller I receive mine pretty quickly.. it’s only the buyer emails that are slow.. so when I create a testing account, site admin receives the email right away, while the buyer sometimes waits longer..
