I registered on Sean’s site and got the welcome email

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtNovember 14, 2013 at 6:40 pm #7512Joanne, I got your email from the SYM contact form, but it did not include your return email address at all.
If I knew what or where wordfence was, I’d deactivate it.
November 14, 2013 at 6:57 pm #7513Yep, don’t have it.

Good News / Bad News
Good news is I used Paypal sandbox and got my purchase. The good news is also that I slept till 9:30
Bad news is you have something left to tweak on Paypal, that being the case. Cathy and Martha have been down this road, so they are more familiar with this than I am and can tell you what they did. Bad news is also that I really meant to sleep till 10.
November 14, 2013 at 7:58 pm #7515Oh, and your right – business account is all thats needed. Thats what I have. I dont’ know why I said pro.
November 14, 2013 at 8:32 pm #7516Business or Premier is needed to get auto-return, Personal will not do it.
I have put details for setting this up in this thread, post 1, blue writing http://www.symbiostock.org/topic/108/draft-tutorial-last-updated-20th-september/

Here’s a thread that explains what to do about Contact form 7 (and possibly other contact forms) when you don’t get any e-mail address to reply to from a contact request, at least for hosting companies like BLueHost that have anti-spam rules that cause the problems with no return e-mail address in a contact request
November 15, 2013 at 1:21 am #7518Hello Sean, I’m really glad you posted this topic. I have had exactly the same problem as you since I started with symbiostock. I made a posting on this forum October 21st in regards to this issue. Thank you to those of you who generously tried to help.
Unfortunately, the issue is still there after much testing. The good news is that some ‘test’ customers can download their images but those test customers that reside (locally and across the country) in Canada can’t. I get the same thing that’s happening to you. Why that is is beyond the scope of my abilities. I have worked hours and hours on this, done the forum thing, phoned paypal, asked Leo a number of times, and am now waiting to hear back from Bluehost to see if they can help.
So, I really hope that someone will help you rectify this problem and hopefully help me!
Good luck with your symbiostock site and you can visit my work in progress at http://www.atlanticastockphoto.com 🙂

I reside in Canada, too and last time I tested a purchase, I was able to download the images.
Maybe it’s host related. I am using ipower.com as my host.November 15, 2013 at 4:14 am #7520Sean’s problem isn’t the host – it’s BlueHost which I and a number of others who are OK with PayPal purchases are using sucessfully. It may be a problem with the IPN setup (although some people say they don’t need that, so I don’t know).
For the in-Canada out-of-country problems that Verena Joy is having, possibly there is something the hosting company does differently, but I wonder if anyone else is using Verena Joy’s hosting company and has it working?
PayPal’s info on setting up IPN notifications on their end:

November 15, 2013 at 7:59 am #7521Lets wait to hear back. Without overcomplicating it, if it works in a sandbox setting, the chances are VERY high that a tweak on the “live” paypal account is needed. I’ve seen it a few times by now, so its probably that.

Ok, I did the following (which, by the way, has changed with Paypal’s new layout):
Go to Paypal
Profile
My Selling Preferences
find
Website preferences: Bring customers back to my website after they pay with PayPal.
Click Update
Select Auto Return
Add the URL for your Customer & File Management Page
in the box
scroll to the bottom of the page
SAVEThat’s all I did, and now it appears to work. If someone else would like to test it, that would be great. I did leave the IPN url in the Paypal IPN settings.
eta: Oh, and I found a plugin so that when users login, it sends them to the management area, not to the WP dashboard.
etaa: Is there a way to have a better file name for the download than 640_bloggee.jpg ?
November 15, 2013 at 3:51 pm #7523I tried it and it worked just fine.
I had the item from yesterday still in my cart; checked the agree to terms, paid and got the screen saying I’d be returned to your site in 10 seconds.
I was returned and the item was still in the cart. Refreshed the display and it showed in the download area. I did download it to make sure that worked – it did.
November 15, 2013 at 4:27 pm #7524Hurrah. Thanks!
November 18, 2013 at 1:28 am #7525I use Bluehost for hosting. Have a totally correct setup according to paypal. Spent alot of time with paypal consultants lately. So now I am waiting for bluehost to investigate further on their end. Did another test purchase with a Canadian tester this evening other than myself and it still doesn’t work 🙁
