Tagged: metadata upload
Hello,
Currently I have an issue with IPTC metadata of my files since this week-end or so. Before it was working perfectly. I precise that my hosting is by Symbiostock, the exec() function is enabled and the cron job is well set. And I upload my images via Ftp.
The images (eps+jpeg) are no longer recognized in symbiostock media except 1/10 in average. I have downloaded a few plugin this week-end (Wootweet), so thinking it’s maybe the source of this bug, I had deleted them.
But now when I upload my files, still the metadata is not recognized…
Any idea about how to reenable the metadata reading, because without it would be so painful!
thanks
Exactly the same problem with metadata 🙁
Maybe I can help. I saw with tech support and we discovered there has been an automatic php update which has changed some settings :
1) ‘Force simple metadata reading’ This has been enabled during the update. You must disabled this if your want your metadata to be read correctly
2) the Imagick extension was disabled also by the php update. It has been reenabled and then all works properly
Hope it will help you…
Thanks, I will check the settings. I hope this will help
The imagick issue related to the vectors actually – it indirectly related to the metadata reading but this was not the actual problem. The simple metadata reading can be an issue so usually keep this off unless it is not working.
Usually if you cannot read/write metadata either your images are not populated right or your hosting environment does not support the ‘exec’ function.
