The rebuilt Symbiostock’s FIRST priority is speed. Speed of interaction, speed of setup, speed of checkout/download. Everything will hopefully be convenient.
You may be pleasantly surprised what comes out of this project. There is a lot of experience and understanding (from a lot of people) making this thing.
This version of Symbiostock is going to be specializing in any product downloadable, with each product type (ie, video, image, vector, 3d model) having it’s own plugin and methods. Specialists from any arena will have their own plugin.
I’m putting this “wish list” thread up because it might guide the project a bit.
Keep in mind that any inclusion of these things are a bonus – the conversation is helpful for me to consider what we can put into the system. But with speed and performance in general being a priority, everything will have to be carefully considered.
Initially the “test” version will be out which will be the bare essentials of what we have now, functioning in solitary or multi-site. This wish list will be considered all along the way.
wish: an easy way for buying on account; an “on account button” at the imagepage should activate a custumerform to fill in firmname, adress, vatnumber, etc, all things needed for sending a bill to a buyer.
wish: a gallery, in which i can link to some of my existing SYS images, which are already uploaded and that there are hyperlinks to those images and that i can give my own title to that galery; just like there is that row of “latest images” and “featured images”. i did not find that feature anywhere

Your going to love the vat system. Once you input the vat number it auto-populates the rest (name, address, etc) super easy.
Right now we’re just researching if that is legal.

– it should be possible to disable unwanted features to simplify the customer experience..Here are a few things that come to mind for me and some might be better candidates for a plugin to be purchased as an add on.
Stronger control over search results – ability for clients to sort by newest, popular, etc. and ability to control default results.
Recognition of plural and singular versions of keywords.
Ability to filter search with secondary refinements, ie: search shrimp, then add cocktail to the search term to narrow search.
I like the suggestion of a stats page to see what is being viewed and most purchased, etc.
Wish: ability to rank images 1-2-3 and have the #1s show up at the top of a search page.

Wow you might actually have helped us with a major issue we were stumped on.
Just to clarify, we don’t know how legal this is:
Input VAT tax number…it returns basic VAT information.
Using that information, the system address search and get a more expanded address for the system’s records.Its a matter of convenience – when the customer inputs vat tax number, the form fully populates itself saving time, trial, error.
This is the part we are questioning legality on. If you can help us confirm legality (or like you say its based on individual places) let me know and I will simply input an auto-populate option.
I would like to have Model release, exclusivity status etc shown automatically under images. I do this at the moment with Jo Ann’s “hack” but have to remember how to change it with major updates.

screenprint 1: you enter a valid VATnumber, press Verify
screenprint 2: you get the fullname and adress of the company.
and one more wish (or is it allready mentioned somewhere?):
should it be possible to search an image with the imagenumber in the search field?
