Like “just installed the theme but had this question” or “I’m looking through the dragonfly themes and I found it easy to use”
Many of us have been doing this for a while and the perspective of a brand new user would be incredibly useful. Sort of “Susan’s New Site Thread”
Would you be willing to do this?March 11, 2014 at 5:07 pm #10299yes, i can tell you my progress so far, i have the Blue Host personal account and i unticked all the other boxes. I opted for the ‘personal’ account rather than business account because the business account asked for a VAT number, and i have no clue about that. Total cost is $170.64 for 36 months.
As for installing WordPress, i followed the Blue Host YouTube videos 1 – 7 and i am stuck already! will let you knowMarch 11, 2014 at 5:37 pm #10300Here is a secret for people like me who don’t know anything. Call Bluehost and own your ignorance. They will do a lot of this for you. Ask lots of dumb questions and make the techs feel really smart. That is how I got through my first install. I called Bluehost 6 times, Godaddy 3 times and Paypal twice. Seems silly but they don’t know me, they were very nice and super helpful, and I got my site up without spending hours of frustration. By the way, I learned a lot and now I can do this all myself. It really isn’t hard but it is until you understand how things work.
March 11, 2014 at 10:16 pm #10301so i emailed Blue Host and asked them please install WordPress for me and they did 🙂 step one complete!

second that!
I’ve really been amazed at the quality of tech support these companies have — I’ve mostly used 1and1, but also bluehost & justhost. also the 24 availability helps fix those 2 am problems
March 12, 2014 at 12:58 pm #10303Followed the Tutorial: Getting Started by Christine. Symbiostock installed and activated , then Symbiostock Dragonfly installed and activated, also activated 2 plugins and so far its a breeze. Great Tutorial, thanks to Christine.
March 12, 2014 at 1:12 pm #10304You are welcome Susan, pleased you are finding them useful. If you find anything in the tutorials that seems wrong or unclear please feel free to say and I will update them so they are more helpful.

March 13, 2014 at 11:43 am #10306good morning from the UK!
me and Wendy (we are both starting out) would like to ask about these 2 plugins:
This theme recommends the following plugins: SYMBIOSTOCK – Image Sitemap and SYMBIOSTOCK -Premium Upgrade.
they werent available yesterday but today they are, can i customise my site without these plugins for now?March 13, 2014 at 12:43 pm #10307Hi Susan
Yes, you can start your site without either of those plug-ins.
It is recommended that you use WordPress SEO by Yoast and set up a Google Webmaster Tools account and submit the site maps it generates to Google to help with your SEO. Symbiostock is built to work with the Yoast SEO
The Symbiostock Site Map fills a gap that is left out by Yoast SEO and is specific to Symbiostock so it is recommended even though it works without it.
The Premium/Professional Plug-in has extra features such as Collections, Twitter integration, ability to create different licences, and batch editing.
The Symbostock.com site was down for some planned work yesterday but is now back.
