Hello, I know many of you encountered the problem of spam registrations. Which is the most succesful way to stop them? I don’t like captcha because I can loose real clients.

I don’t believe that clients will be scared away because they have to enter in a few more letters and numbers.
Lots of websites use Captcha, including Shutterstock (which is one of the most successful stock sites out there).
Maybe I’m naive, but if someone has any real evidence that Captcha scares away clients then please post it.
i turned off comments and get spam registrations but you can just ignore them, so no need for captcha
I have been happy with Anti-Captcha – doesn’t bother real users and has cut out spam registrations
I don’t mind the registrations that much. I disabled the admin bar and hid all the comment boxes. It’s hard to benefit from comments anyway.
I also use anti-captcha and recommend it

Thank you very much, I will install Anti Captcha. I have disabled the comments too but the written “Let a comment” on the site is still there, I don’t know how to remove it.
