Soo.. my website is in spanish and my images are keyworded in english :S.
Does anyone know of a way to translate the search query (which will be in spanish) so that it returns the appropiate images? thxOctober 15, 2013 at 7:39 am #4860Try the TranslateThis Button plugin. It changes the site to the language specified. I have not used it for a while but it used to work

October 15, 2013 at 11:41 am #4862The Meta data you will have to change by hand for each file. You can do this on each page of the images or change the Meta tags of the images and then re-upload them all.
A suggestion is that if you want to support either multiple languages or just the one that you do the Meta tags in your images in either multiple languages or in the language you want.
Word of caution, most of the web is run in English, usually American. I would advise using dual descriptions and keywords. Some are almost spelt the same so use the English version in my opinion.

October 15, 2013 at 1:47 pm #4863I have just added it to my header area – I agree it does not translate everything but it probably does enough to help clients. Take a look – give it time to translate

October 16, 2013 at 3:04 am #4865if you use a transaltion tool, do a ‘view source’ after your page is translated — some tools, the MS one, do not change the underlying text – they take the original source for that page & translate it on the fly — so any search engine would still see the original

However, Spanish is more flowery than English and the translator disappears under the header so you need to refresh the page and grab it quickly to change back to English

I just left a message about this in the other thread – whether refresh or exit entirely, the translate box goes by too fast to change. looks like i’ll be practicing my French on your site for a little longer
there’s also a free Microsoft translator widget available that I used for awhile
October 18, 2013 at 7:37 pm #4870@christine: looked at your site using the translate button fot Dutch; maybe it will work in searching, but the language is really funny…
I guess i will not use it and stay working double: english – dutchOctober 18, 2013 at 7:48 pm #4871Its is the Google translator – I will keep trying till I find one that works.
