Linked in sites

I can see that many SS sites have several sites linked in to their website. What does this mean and how to improve this.?

You can ask people to network with you here:

You can simply add up to 10 other site URLs under Symbiostock>Network in your WordPress admin panel.

I know what you mean and will pay attention to that. But I think there is another meaning of linked in sites.
When you look at http://cascoly.com/symbio/list.asp?list=66 you can see that a lot of SS sites have many linked in sites.
I think this is a diiferent kind of link ?? Or not?

right – the report you refer to is the Alexa report and shows how many sites over the entire web link to your site – there’s no direct way to control this other than to ask people to link.
