Hey folks –
1. I saw somewhere in the Dashboard a mention of 301 redirects, but I didn’t understand how to use it. I’m familiar with this term from another ecommerce site I ran, and would like to have this in place on my new shop; where a product’s URL will automatically be forwarded to the new one if the item’s name is changed, for example. And so any links out on the web that get clicked don’t just go to a dead end page, but rather are automatically forwarded to the new URL.
2. Also, I will have a link in my Navigation that I want to point to a new external URL every month. What is the most efficient way to do this regularly? Where do I specify the new URL, and how do I attach the link to that text in the Nav ?

2. WP admin dashboard -> Appearance -> MenusThanks Andre – yes #2 was easy, I should’ve realized that.
However, #1 is more tricky: I checked the link and see how I can manually put in a redirect for any page that changes to a new URL, so that’s good and is useful.
But is there a way that this can be done automatically, so I don’t have to perform that step every time a page URL changes?
I ask because I had this automatic 301 redirect feature in a Bigcommerce shop, where every time a product name or something else changed resulting in a new URL, it would automatically keep track of the old URL and forward it to the new one.
I was surprised how handy that feature proved to be, things changed more than I was expecting. It was very helpful!
