Tagged: exec commands, metadata, write metadata
Hi, I would like to know how key is the ability to “write metadata” hence having the Exec coommands allowed. For the particular project the chosen hosting doesn’t seem to allow having this feature enabled for shared hosting solutions and Symbiostock hosting is not feasable.
Therefore the question: how key is the ability to write metadata for Symbiostock to run smoothly?
Hi there – it is not required at all to run smoothly. The only caveat is when you update titles, keywords and descriptions in WordPress, your actual images will not have that metadata stored in them. Having metadata stored in them makes them autonomously populated so if you were to download the images or submit them to agencies, all of the content would be there. Without exec commands this is not possible, so your images will remain ‘naked’ so to speak in that they will only be titled within WordPress. If you download the images or export them they will look exactly as they did when you uploaded them.
Thank you for your reply.
Double checking with the hosting’s support, I realised that exec() is actually enabled but Symbiostock’s diagnostic tells me it is disabled. Any thoughts?
