what are the differences, and is there an easy transition from a hosted site to a standalone one?
Right now, I have not developed a plugin that ports one new Symbiostock site to another, so transitioning between a hosted to non-hosted won’t be possible in an automated sense right now. This is a good idea, and I will create one once the main plugin is live and going strong. This is not a high priority, however.
As for features, there are no differences between a hosted and non-hosted site – I have programmed it to be the same plugin. However, with hosted, you will be automatically provided FTP login information, you will not have to run the maintenance script yourself, and you will be provided access to our premium Symbiostock theme for free. There may be other features we include with the hosted solution as this will be the primary method of sustaining the project.
