Really happy with my upgrade to 2.9.4 which wasn’t nearly as painful as expected, the only major problem I’m finding now is with my header menu.
It’s made up of 5 categories, 3 of which have dropdown menus with sub-categories. The problem is that with these 3, I can’t click on the parent category but have to select a sub-category.
For example, my category “cupcakes” has over 500 images but only about half of them are sub-categorized, so a customer browsing by categories is only seeing about half of them.
BTW I’m using the newer version of CleanTheme from Leo, but I don’t think that’s the problem as it was the same before I installed it
November 1, 2013 at 3:12 pm #6681I have seen this new behavior too, so I figured it was intentional (as part of the removal of display of sub categories). I’m working with/around this by consolidating and re-arranging the menus.
So in the case of your Cupcakes menu I would put in an entry at the top “All cupcakes” or “Browse cupcakes” (or something like that).
BTW your site – and your wonderful images of cakes – are a delight 🙂
November 1, 2013 at 4:24 pm #6682I was thinking the same as Jo Ann – adding another category with All Cupcakes should get around your problem.
I came across your site the other day and vowed never to visit again 🙂 Your images are a joy to look at, but I think I put on pounds just by looking (and then going and making some bread as cakes are currently off the menu )
Plus I have just learned the difference between macarons and macroons as I thought you had a spelling mistake but they are different things

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtNovember 1, 2013 at 6:37 pm #6683yes, that’s a new feature that crept in recently.
i’d suggested earlier that we need a way to show just the category images that are NOT in a subcategory
eg, in my birds category, i’d like to be able to show birds that are neither penguins nor puffins
http://cascoly-images.com/pix/image-categories/another approach would be a search that recognized NOT , eg ‘bird -penguin’
