Yeah no contact form should retain information after the submit button is pressed. Might be a bluehost thing on your end though mine has to be related to the SY theme and that plugin I pointed out. Once I disabled that the contact form worked but I have to have that plugin activated which it is. Something in that code updating from whatever SY theme I had to 2.5.6 has mucked things up.
*sigh*
This has just been one sucky day.
October 31, 2013 at 1:54 am #6548I’ve tried everything and there’s just no work around and I just don’t get it. Maybe I’ll put a separate contact thingy on my main site and direct it there then put some sort of redirect back to the stock site.
I’ll try that tomorrow coz my brain is fried at the moment.
October 31, 2013 at 7:34 am #6549Hi Anita
Frustrating stuff.
You’ve probably already tried this but just in case – even if the workaround in the links above don’t work for you, (it worked for me, BTW), is it worth putting
Reply-To: [your-email]
in the “Additional Headers” box?
Note that “[your-email]” should be typed literally as that – it’s the tag that CF7 uses for the sender.
October 31, 2013 at 2:10 pm #6550I had something similar to that based on one of the threads and it doesn’t work. Tried your suggestion and it still didn’t work. I even tried logging out and sending a message. It’s still not giving me the user inputted email address.
There’s a conflict between CF7 and the Symbiostock email and messages plugin. I know code but not sure where the conflict is so I need someone way smarter than me to see if they can find it. Unless it’s something with the CF7 short code I have no idea.
October 31, 2013 at 2:49 pm #6551At one time you had to remove the [ ] from around email so you got the senders email address if I remember correctly. I don’t use Contact Form 7 so cannot check

http://nail-art-at.kerioak.com - Art and Nail ArtOctober 31, 2013 at 6:55 pm #6552Ok for the sake of clarity here. “Contact Form 7” is NOT working since WordPress updated. Unless you know how to rewrite the plugin… IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK till the owner fixes it! When you pointed it out I ran tests and realised my site had the same issues.
Jetpack shouldn’t give you any problems as I run it on my site since I started out a few weeks ago. I’ve tested most of its components and even disabled some since I don’t need them. The contact form with Jetpack does work. It works on my site.
You will have to go and edit the contact page as explained with the setup help page. In other words you cannot get the contact page to work unless you remove the previous plugin info and rebuild it for Jetpack.
Alternatively you can just rename the actual “page” and create a new one but you must remember to change the links on the menus so they point to the right page.
Lastly anyone can contact you with Jetpack even if you are not signed in. I get spam this way and I just sent a test email from Opera which is not signed up to my site.
Again, feel free to continue the struggle with Contact Form 7. Choice is yours but you have been told several times that it is NOT working currently.

November 1, 2013 at 4:38 pm #6553I tried using another contact form called “Contact Form” and just got a upgrade notice that it now works with 3.7.1 and it works as it should. Until Contact Form 7 gets fixed Cintact Form is a good alternative
November 1, 2013 at 8:00 pm #6554@JoRidrigues Okay for 1 I didn’t know that it doesn’t work with WP 3.7 so don’t bite peoples heads off. Nothing I read on any forum over the last few days stated as such and nothing relating to the problem I was having with it.
@shotupdave I’ll give that one a try. Can you give me the developers name just in case there are a few plugins with the same name? Thanks.
November 1, 2013 at 8:07 pm #6555Ok, not taking into account that you misspelt my name (Jo is just fine by the way) and that it really doesn’t bother me, I wasn’t biting your head off. Had I done so you would have not only lost your head but your ability to type.
Secondly, I explained to you what the problem and your own attitude saw you ignoring good advice and continuing to blame everything but the plugin. So when I told you to do as you see fit, you really shouldn’t take offence when your choice turns out to be the wrong one for your needs.

Wow and whatever dude. Like I said nothing in this thread stated anything about that it doesn’t work with 3.7.1 nor on any thread I’ve read on the Word Press site. And you don’t think that part which I quoted was a little obnoxious given the fact that no one knew?

November 2, 2013 at 5:07 am #6558………… [EDITED BY CHRISTINE TO REMOVE UNWARRANTED REMARKS]
I’m going to go find that plugin that was suggested to see if that works since Jet Pack also didn’t work and did the same thing CF7 is doing not showing me the email addresses of the people that have used the contact form.
