Firstly, setting this whole thing up is new and very foreign to me. I have managed to muddle through some of the setup – but now I have a problem.
I was using the child template for SS – however some things were not lining up, and there were fields that I did not want on my Landing Page. So someone suggested that I use the `home simple`template instead of the default one. I started setting up my landing page with this new template, but I can only view it as a page underneath my website.How can I make this page as my landing page, so that it appears straight away when I go to my website
Thank you kindly in advance for any help you can provide, and pls make it easy for me to follow.
Did you create a new page with the Home Page Simple template – or apply the template to your home page?

Go to Themes, then Customize in Symbiostock theme and select desired page in Static Front Page.

Someone else posted another solution :go to SETTINGS¸¸¸READINGS and setting the first item as your home page
