Hey folks, my watermark is not updating everywhere – how do I fix this?
I updated my watermark last week to be a few % darker and when it didn’t seem to update quick, I tested it again by updating a 100% black version of it to make sure I was seeing the change. Some items updated quick and some took overnight to update, but by the next day all or most were updated to the 100% black version, so I was happy that the process seemed to be working correctly.
So I updated it again with just the couple of % darker version which was my original intent – but now a week later, many of the items are still showing the 100% black watermark. Of these, the watermark is 100% black on the Shop, Category and Item pages, but when I click the item page’s image so it opens in its own window (is this the “lightbox” image?), it’s showing the correct watermark.
So what’s the most efficient solution here? I need all items to be updated to the current version and display them on all Shop, Category and Item pages – how do I fix this?
thank you!

If you edit the product in the backend and it is updated there, then Symbiostock is doing its job. That’s the best way to check – check if a product that has the black watermark on the front end has it on the backend as well. If not, then either your theme (or another plugin) is serving some other thumbnail it created itself, or it’s a cache’d image as Chris suggested.

What was strange is that some of the tiny thumbnails in my Symbiostock>Media list were inconsistently showing as black, and while I was in there poking around, something changed and they’re all showing correctly except one.
But even with using a new browser with Private Window, some of these items are still displaying black on the Shop page and Product page, but not the Product detail image (what is this called? The image that comes up in its own window when you click on the image on the product page).
I haven’t heard back from my Theme developer on this yet.
Any ideas? Is there a “thumbnail update” I should be doing in the backend Product edit page for these instances?

When I click the Product Image at right and Edit it, resize a bit and resize back to the original and Update the product, it updates when I refresh the browser. I will apply this trick to all of them and let you know if I have trouble.
thanks Robin!

https://www.clipartman.comNovember 3, 2016 at 8:04 am #28699Robin & co – I’m having this issue again because I changed my watermark again. To refer to the 7th post here by Robin, no when I bring up the Symbio Media list, many of the thumbnails have not updated on the backend.
I need for these to all update themselves like it’s supposed to, without me manually going into hundreds of Product pages and Updating the product by hand. How do I accomplish this?
thank you!

https://www.clipartman.comNovember 3, 2016 at 1:27 pm #28700Symbiostock updates all of the watermarks as is expected. If your theme is creating secondary copies of the thumbnails we have no control over that and it is theme dependent. You should contact your theme developer to confirm. if they say the theme does not create secondary thumbnails, then all you have to do is wait and all your thumbnails will get re-done. Just make sure you refresh any page you’re trying to test.
November 4, 2016 at 4:44 am #28760I am awaiting their reply. In the meantime, Chris mentioned a WP cache – can you explain this comment? Because in some cases, when I update my Product page, the watermark isn’t updating. But in some cases it does. It’s inconsistent.
So this cache explanation sounds like it might be a solution – I didn’t know about any WP cache. Can you please show me please exactly how I can clear the WP cache, so any old product thumbnail images that are “sticking” get wiped out and all are freshly updated?
thank you!
