I’m very new to this and my site is not yet done,
but I’m interesting in networking with other vector illustrators
My site is http://www.buyillustrations.net
Hoping to hear from someone
September 22, 2013 at 10:07 am #3068There are quite a few, just take a look around the network (excluding me – I only have about 9 vectors)

September 22, 2013 at 11:27 am #3070You can request from this forum that people link to you, but you have to link to others from within your site.
Rather than giving you a direct link I will explain how to find it
Go to an image on someone’s site (most people have their author information on the single image page under the picture, if not it might be in the footer if they are using Syxtra plugin).
There will be something like “photographer info”, click on the dropdown box and select Network
this will be a list of the people/sites they are directly linked toAt the bottom of the page there will be a link to the Directory
this will be a list of links to everyone they are linked to and everyone their links are linked to.For instance my directory should consist of 81 of the current 111 sites available which would give you a good selection to search though or you could go to symbiostock.info and look at everyone’s sites and choose who to network to. Very few people do fully reciprocal linking, some may link back to each other, others link to someone completely different which spreads the net wider. When you link to someone they will automatically receive an email letting them know you are linking to them.

nice site.. congrats.. we may network if you like.. I have a few spots left.. (as far as I know 10 is the max we can have)
September 22, 2013 at 11:45 am #3072Hi cidepix,
That would be GREAT! 🙂
Do I send my symbiocard by e-mail and you send me yours, then we each upload it through the WP panel or how does this work?
Sorry for asking newbie questions
September 22, 2013 at 11:47 am #3073Btw, I just did the premium upgrade so things look terrible at my site right now, but the design will improve in a couple of days

we don’t need cards 🙂
just go to your network section and add my URL by using the (+) sign, and I will add yours..
September 22, 2013 at 12:23 pm #3075btw you have to enter the url exactly the way it is.. for example your url is http://buyillustrations.net/
if I add http://www.buyillustrations.net/ it won’t work..
http://buyillustrations.net/ will work..
mine is http://www.cidepix.com/ with www
September 22, 2013 at 12:27 pm #3076Okay, thanks for the info
Done! And seems to be working 🙂
Neat site by the way!
ETA: Is there anything that affects which “number” you will be in the search results?
I mean you’re my only network partner right now, so obiously the placement of your results will be right below mine.
But if I had 10, would it just randomly choose the order of partner sites upon searching, or does it list site depending on relevance, port size etc., connections or other parameters ?
September 22, 2013 at 12:28 pm #3077I recommend adding http://symbiostock.info at the bottom as well..

Thanks, yes I will do that!
September 22, 2013 at 12:40 pm #3079Hmm, seemingly there’s a problem
When I search on your site and my images come up, you get to a non-existent page when clicking my results – for instance:
It seems to be the last part “?r=http://www.cidepix.com” that creates the problem, I have no idea why, because it works on my site with your images even though the URL has the referral bit in the end

not sure how it works exactly.. here is what I think:
– site that is added first appear on top..
– if a site hasn’t got an image for a keyword, then it will not appear at all..
– if your site is added to bottom row, you may still appear higher, if sites added before you return no results..sometimes random sites appear in my network when I perform a search.. not sure why.. it maybe because I have symbiostock.info in my network..

no that is not the problem.. I was going to write this too.. if you search on my site and follow the link to any other sites, you don’t get this problem..
it happens with your site..
