We’ve now upgraded the engine to support PNG transparency from start to finish. This includes:
1) The ability to sell resized PNGs that preserve transparency for customers
2) Proper watermarking when PNGs are thumbnailed
3) Demo transparent content in the thumbnails themselves with a Photoshop-like transparency grid.
None of this affects you if you are using GD. We wanted to provide a similar functionality for resized vectors, but the conversion process from vector to PNG is, for some reason, too strenuous for production sites.
2.0.7 also adds two important upgrades:
1) Allows you to set licenses as ‘physical’ – this means that the user will not be prompted to download anything and instead it will need to be fulfilled, as normal, within WooCommerce.
2) Allows you to extract custom EXIF fields from your images. This is only useful if you need the EXIF data for custom code.
