This is something to be aware of when you’re applying categories to your images:
Cannot bulk remove categories from products. This WordPress issue has been known for at least 5 years as it applies to blog posts/blog categories too. So when you are first setting up your store and you’re creating your categories for your images, be very sure about the categories you want, try to create categories that you think will be permanent additions to your store. Same goes for when you’re bulk adding images to categories – because if you change your mind the next day you will have to edit each individual image to remove categories from them.
One idea we’re toying with is the notion of just deleting the category in the hope that it removes all the products from it. If someone wants to test it out and post results, let us all know.
